Your local AFC representative will guide you to check in to your hotel in Tokyo where you will spend the night and catch up on some much-needed rest. Overnight in Tokyo.

Good morning Tokyo; It is your first morning in the city welcomed with a sumptuous serving of breakfast at the hotel to prepare you for the day ahead. Today, you will join the group for a full-day Tokyo City Tour. This starts with a visit to the Asakusa Sensoji Kanon Temple-- It is Tokyo’s oldest temple and one of its most significant Buddhist Temples with its historical significance. From here, you will walk through Nakamise Shopping Street, a 250 m popular shopping street that connects the Sensoji Main Gate to the Main Hall. After this, there will be some interesting sights that you will pass by on the way as the group drives to the lunch location. This includes the Imperial Palace and the National Diet Building. After lunch, you will visit the Tokyo Tower, a 332.9m communications and observation tower in the Shiba-Koen district of Minato, Tokyo. It is the second-tallest structure in Japan. On the drive, you will pass by Ginza and the Rainbow Bridge on your way to Odaiba, a man-made island made on Tokyo Bay which functions as an entertainment complex. Overnight in Tokyo.

Breakfast will be served and ready for you at the hotel. Today you can enjoy a free day in Tokyo or join the group to have a day tour to see Japan’s most-iconic natural landscape-- Mt Fuji. It is the most majestic mountain in all of Japan, it also includes the Oshino Hakkai Village which is well-known for 9 crystal-clear ponds so opaque it almost looks like glass. After some time allotted for lunch, the group will take a scenic cruise on Lake Kawagushiko. After this, board a panoramic right on the Hakone Komagataka Ropeway. It is perfect for a better view of Fuji mountain overlooking Lake Ashi. Such a breathtaking day to have before you go back to the hotel in Tokyo where you will spend the night. Overnight in Tokyo.

It’s your last morning in Tokyo; breakfast will be ready at the hotel to prepare you for your departure. Prepare a smaller bag for just one night’s stay in Hiroshima. Once you arrive, you will proceed for lunch and explore Hiroshima Peace Park & Atomic Bomb Dome. This is the only structure near the hypocenter left after the tragic explosion of the first atomic bomb in 1945-- Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. Years after this tragedy, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum has been built at the centre of the city to keep the memory of the people of Hiroshima and the aftermath of the bombing of Hiroshima in World War II. You will proceed to check into the hotel after an eventful and insightful exploration. Overnight in Hiroshima.

Breakfast will be served at the hotel before checking out. Today, the group will transfer down to Osaka by coach. Upon arrival to Osaka, there will be an orientation tour of Kobe, a city on Osaka Bay in central Japan, known for premium cut signature marbled beef, and the most scenic mountain views by the bay. You will immediately check into the hotel once you reach central Osaka and have the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Osaka.

Breakfast will be ready at the hotel. Have a day at leisure to explore the city on your own or prepare yourself for departing to Kyoto for a day tour. Kyoto is a city on the island of Honshu, known for classical Buddhist temples adorned by intricate beautiful gardens, and imperial palaces. There are also numerous iconic Shinto shrines and traditional wooden houses in the city. Your exploration of Kyoto starts with a visit to the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, one of the most photographed parts of the city. Next is the Kinkaku-Ji Golden Pavilion, another popular sightseeing site in Kyoto, a Zen Buddhist temple. After lunch, You will visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine- the proper place for an introduction to the Shinto religion, and the history of Japan; You may also have an opportunity to try out some local treats from the food stalls or take Instagram-worthy photos under the iconic 1000-gates. Return to Osaka after an eventful day. Overnight in Osaka.

Travel Tips

  •  Carry sunscreen and sunglasses every day with you while you are travelling
  •  Be on time as advised by the dedicated tour manager
  •  Having a travel Insurance is very important!
  •  Scan your passport/ identity card photos and save them in your mobile
  •  Try learning a few words of the language of the country you are visiting
  •  Always carry a photocopy of your itinerary with yourself
  •  Self-educate yourself about the local customs of the country before you arrive. You obviously do not want to offend anyone while you travel!
  •  Be kind, polite & Smile often! Being part of a group tour will definitely make it easier for you to make your new travel buddies.
  •  Carry an extra pair of clothes when you are catching a flight in your handbag in case of any unexpected delays
  •  Charge all your gadgets whenever you get time. A great tip - you will find a USB charging port at the back of your hotel TV!
  •  Try not to exchange your currency at the airport as you will not get the best exchange rate over there
  •  Get earplugs and a sleep mask along with you! They can be very helpful when you are flying or especially during your inter-country commute via tour bus
  •  Track your spending when you are on the trip! It can be tiresome but you will always be well-informed about all your expenses and the remaining travel budget amount
  •  As tipping is habitual in most of the countries, it is not polite to walk out of the restaurants without tipping anything. You can tip somewhere between 10 to 20 per cent of the total bill value
  •  Let your bank know that you will be travelling so your card is not blocked for sudden international usage
