Even if you don’t do anything else, just take a train ride, preferably the Glacier Express (the slowest express train in the world), starting at Zermatt going all the way up to St Moritz. If you are seeking adventure, then you are in the right place. Trekking, hiking, skiing, snowboarding – its right here in the mountains of Switzerland. For something different – give canyoning which means you can start at one end of the canyon and reach the other end by walking, climbing, jumping, swimming and abseiling – or all the above. Lord Byron, inspired by this castle, penned his famous “Prisoner of Chillon” after visiting this castle on one stormy night. You can arrive here by train or via the ferry boat on Lake Geneva. Nothing beats the joy of arriving at this foreboding castle sitting on the edge of the lake. Largest Waterfall in Europe is here
The glorious Rhine Falls (a short distance from Zurich) is an amazing sight. The largest plain waterfall in Europe, it is easily accessible by car, bicycle and train. Take an exciting boat ride through the falls to right under the falls. Get off on the little island in the centre and walk up to the top to get the best views of the falls.
